The Story, A Romantic Movie Titanic

Titanic - Beginning with treasure hunter Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton) searching the Titanic wreck for the fabled necklace named the Heart of the Ocean, the Titanic movie features actual footage of the wreckage. After recovering a safe that was thought to belong to first class passenger Caledon ‘Cal’ Hockley, played by Billy Zane, Lovett hopes to find the Heart of the Ocean contained within. He finds nothing but soggy bank statements and a sketch of a naked woman wearing the necklace, and Lovett believes that he has hit a dead end.

84 years later, a 101-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukater tells the story to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell and Anatoly Mikailavich on the Keldysh about her life set in the 10 April 1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards boats depart with top class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiance, Caledon Hockley. Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game. And she explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on the first and last trip April 15, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning

Jack Dawson (Leonardo Di Caprio) is a young boy who wins passage to America aboard the Titanic in a lucky game of poker (upon boarding the ship, Jack tells to his friend that they are "the luckiest sons of bitches in the world"). Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) is travelling to America, to be married to Cal Hockley (Billy Zane), a situation she is not thrilled about. Sparks fly when Dawson manages to talk Rose out of jumping overboard, but tragedy awaits as the unsinkable ship hits and iceberg and begins to flounder.

In the movie, this story is presented to the audience as a flashback. The narrator is Rose, 101 years old, with the last name Dawson. She tells the story to a treasure hunter (Bill Paxton), who is looking for the famous (and valuable) Heart of the Ocean, a diamond that was given to Rose by her fiance, Hockley.

Starting with treasure hunter Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton) find the Titanic sank to fairy named Heart of the Ocean necklace, the movie features actual footage of the Titanic wreckage. After recovering a safe allegedly belonging to the first class passengers Caledon 'Cal' Hockley, played by Billy Zane, Lovett hopes to find the Heart of the Ocean contained therein. He found nothing but wet bank statements and sketches of naked women wearing the necklace, and Lovett believed he had hit a dead end.

A woman by the name of Rose Calvert (Gloria Stuart) sees Lovett on the news and contact him. Lovett was not interested in what she was saying at first, but became interested when she told him that she was the woman in the picture. Having flown to tell his story, we learn that Rose Rose DeWitt Bukater Calvert ever and a first-class passenger on the Titanic. He recounted his experience being on board doomed.

The film starts with drifter Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) won three first-class tickets for the Titanic in a poker game. He and his friend Fabrizio caught the boat as it went. It also shows the class passenger Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), her mother Ruth (Frances Fisher) and her fiance Cal Hockley. Rose is on the way to Philadelphia to marry Hockley, the arrangements made by the mother to protect the wealth status. Unhappy with this decision, Rose attempts suicide by throwing himself from the Titanic.

He was confronted by Dawson who convinced him to come off the fence. Rose invites Jack to dinner as a thank you, and the spirit of Jack after he went for a third night dance class. Rose decided to decide its own future and asks Jack, who was a famous artist to draw her nude wearing only Heart of the Ocean.

The two later found their way into the cargo hold and find a rich person's car waiting for them. They continued to make love in the back seat before the ship hit the iceberg.

As people began boarding the boat, he was arrested and locked in the master at arms office '. Instead of riding the boat, Rose returns to help Jack and the two must struggle to survive. Jack and Rose's fiance Cal finally convince him to ride the boat, and Cal convinced that he had made arrangements to get the men off the ship safely.

Cal double cross Jack and Rose decided to go back to him again even though he was urged to stay on the boat. Rose finds Jack and Cal pursued them to the classroom to eat flooded with guns. After they fled Cal, he returned to the deck and board lifeboats after pretending to keep the children left behind.

Rose and Jack go down with the ship and Jack helped him to the door that can support the weight of a person. While Jack is in the cold water, they exchange words of love, and he died of hypothermia. After the ship Carpathia, Rose gives her name as Rose Dawson. She saw Cal once again frantically looking for him, but hid her face in a blanket as he looked at her. Rose then proceeded to do everything that she and Jack promised to do together, and live his life.

Back on the ship Lovett, Rose walked to the side, resulting in Heart of the Ocean, and threw it into the sea. In the final scene, Rose met Jack in Titanic's grand staircase, they kissed and applauded by people missing in the disaster. It is not known whether or not he was dreaming or if he dies (Jack said that he would die in his bed as an old woman), and James Cameron leaves it up to the viewer to decide.

The acting is excellent by all concerned, but I was most impressed by Zane. The nice thing about a ship sinking is that it is a relatively slow event, and Cameron takes every advantage of it. The depiction of the mighty ship going under is so much larger than life and I feel this is the most magnificent part of the movie. Just for that reason alone, Titanic is a movie not just to be seen, but to be experienced. So make sure you see it on the big screen. It goes to show that the concept of the disaster movie is far from dead.
